KinKi Kids World is for all English-speaking KinKi Kids fans who, despite the language barrier, have found themselves falling in love with KinKi Kids and their music, this is my humble attempt to bring us all closer to the world of KinKi Kids - Domoto Tsuyoshi 堂本刚 (244) and Domoto Koichi 堂本光一(51).

The contents of this blog are based primarily on contents found in other Chinese blogs, as I have only just started learning Japanese (which is とても むずがしです i.e. very difficult). I wish to thank all the Chinese Kinki Kids fans for their hard work and efforts in translating the Japanese materials/information on the KinKi Kids.

KinKi Kids concert tour J: Concert Goods

The theme of the J con goods appears to be the pure and classic image with white and silver colours.  I especially love the furry strap and shiny silver bag!

J Album CMs - Contents List

I didn't realise there would be so many CMs for J Album!!!  And each of them is so good!  I've listed out the CMs below for easy reference and you can click on it to take you to the relevant post with the video clip.

J Album CM (15s):
1)  KK biting the stems of red roses
2)  Mafia KK
3)  Music box J stops sideway
4)  KK handcuffed to each other
5)  KK sitting beside baby J
6)  KK posing as mannequins holding baby J (still searching for a better video clip)

J Album CM (30s):
1)  Music box J stops and KK tries to sing to make it turn again
2)  KK being shrunk by staff (NB.  This is not an official version!!!  It's fan-made!)

J Album CM (60s):
1)  KK stunned to see baby J
2)  KK "complaining" why the big J backstage was not used instead

J Album CM (15s) Ver 6: KinKi Kids Mannequins with Baby J!!!

もうJからは逃げられない
(Mou J kara wa nigerarenai)
You cannot escape from J

The CM is at 7.43 to 8.13.

J Album CM (15s) Ver 5: KinKi Kids sitting beside baby J! Kawaii!

Woah!  Isn't Koichi's pose actually Tsuyoshi's trademark kawaii pose???  I guess Tsuyoshi doesn't mind cuz his new pose is even more...ahem...ladylike(?).  Kekekekeke!

Jに託した僕たちの思い
(J ni takushita boku tachi no omoi)
J is entrusted with our feelings

J Album CM Fanvid: Mini KinKi Kids!!!

(Note:  This is not an official version!!!  This is fan-made!)

Kawaii! Kawaii!  Mini KinKi Kids!  Wouldn't you like to keep them in your pocket?!  Fufufufu!

And the reason for this CM?

"As a result of KinKi Kids making noise about wanting a bigger J"
(KinKi-san ga J wa ookiku to urusai node)
- By Staff

Hahahahaha!!!  You want a bigger J?  Sure!  Easy!  We make you smaller!!!  Super hilarious!

For the video clips where KK were complaining about the J being small, click here.

J Album CM (15s) Ver 4: OMG! J is for "Jail"? Kinky KinKi Kids!!!

Jに繫がれた僕たちの叫び
(J ni tsunagareta boku tachi no sakebi)
J is fastened with our outcry

I love the director of this series of CMs for J Album!  He must be a KK BL fan!  Hahahahaha!  Anyone care for J for "Jail"?  Well, I don't think either KK themselves or KKL fans will complain if they are jailed to each other!  This is the ultimate classic image to treasure!  When will we KKL fans have a chance to see such image which should rightfully only be found in their own private bedroom video?!  Lalalalala ~ ~ ~

Version 4

English Translation:
(Credit to 51XmomoX24 for the Chinese translation)
[Words in square brackets means I'm not sure whether I caught the Japanese words correctly]
Tsuyoshi:  [Ii shigi gari desu.] Jet-tai deki (Good outcome. Absolutely can!)
Koichi:  Tai-ho[s jya so] (Capture you.  Last part is I think an ending sound but not sure what it is supposed to mean...)
Narrator:  (slight embarrased cough?)

J Album CM (15s) Ver 3: Pouting Koichi?!?!

This CM is also very funny!  BGM is Secret Code.  "Music box J" with KinKi Kids on it (like those ballerinas we see on music box??? Fufufufu!) suddenly stops sideways.  Tsuyoshi had to scramble forward to face the camera and Koichi looks so "innocently aggreived" and pouted his mouth as he had to twist his head to face the camera behind him!  OMG!  I am totally 萌 (meng) by his pouting look.  If you don't believe me, see for yourself!

As for Tsuyoshi, he's still trapped in his Mafia image!  But take note that his face is right beside somebody's backside!  Fufufufu!

Version 3

English Translation:
Tsuyoshi: Kando suru Jet-tai  (Definitely will touch you)
(He's punning again on the word "definitely", pronouncing it as "J-tai" instead of "zat-tai")
Koichi: J dakeni (Only J)

Narrator:  (slight embarassed cough or clearing throat sound?)

J Album CM (15s) Version 2: Mafia KinKi Kids!!!

This is the 15s CM that KK fandom has been talking about - the Mafia KinKi Kids!

English Translation:
Tsuyoshi: (acting cool) Kando suru Jet-tai  (Definitely will touch you)
(He's punning again on the word "definitely", pronouncing it as "J-tai" instead of "zat-tai")
Koichi: J dakeni (Only J)
Narrator: WOW

[091206] J Album Secret Live Event: J for "Junction"!!!

KinKi Kids held their secret live event for J Album in a tunnel 37 metres below ground on 6 Dec!  This tunnel is still under construction and is known as Route 246.  KinKi Kids had their stage built at the junction connecting the Metropolitan Expressway Central Circular Line and Shibuya Line.  I think this junction is known as the Junction Bridge or JCT Bridge.  So, J is for "Junction" this round!  Apparently, JE staff has been negotiating since Oct with the relevant authorities to allow them to stage the live event in the tunnel!  Well, credit to them this time for thinking of such a novel venue and newsworthy promotion event.

So that's the answer to the mysterious request for fans to wear sneakers and why only 246 lucky fans were balloted for the event.  Buses were used to ferry the fans to the venue and the fans also didn't know where they were being taken!  Masks were given to the fans as the place was still quite dusty since construction will only be completed around next March.

[20020303 & 10] Japan Walker: KinKi Kids' 10th Anniversary Onsen Trip

I'm sure nearly all KK fans would know about KinKi Kids' surprise onsen trip in 2002 to commemorate their 10th anniversary!  This was broadcasted on Koichi's variety show, Japan Walker, over 2 episodes.

Throughout the show, it was mentioned that Tsuyoshi had something to say to Koichi, but right up to the end of the show, he never said it.  In fact, many fans felt that Koichi was very tensed  up during this filming as he might have been afraid that what Tsuyoshi wanted to say was that he wanted to disband KinKi Kids.  At that time, there was apparently a huge furore in Japan over whether KinKi Kids should or should not disband.  Up to now, I still cannot understand how fans can actually just like one but not the other.  I love both of them and I love their solo too, but just like what they say, KinKi Kids is home to them.  How can fans desire the destruction of their home?!?!   By the very fact that KinKi Kids are still together for 7-8 years since then, we know that they themselves will not let go.  In fact, Tsuyoshi has recently stated in a magazine interview for Nov this year that "光一が「解散したい」て言わない限り 僕は解散しないです。" (Unless Koichi says "I wish to disband", otherwise I will not disband.)

Anyway, I've digressed......

What exactly did Tsuyoshi want to say to Koichi during that onsen trip?  We know that Tsuyoshi actually drew a picture and wrote out what he wanted to say to Koichi, but most of the video clips available now do not have that picture.  I was lucky enough to download a video clip that had that picture and have taken a screen cap to post it here to share with those who have never seen it.

A rough translation of Tsuyoshi's words would be:
"When I see Koichi's face, I am unable to say it directly to him...Thank you. - Tsuyoshi"

At the end of their onsen trip, when they were eating grilled seafood in the seaside onsen, Tsuyoshi initiated a handshake pattern with Koichi.  I recall reading on another KK fan's blog that it was the same pattern as that done by Koichi in the drama "Homeless Child 2".  I managed to find the handshake pattern in that drama:

1st pattern:  Koichi clasps the hand of the girl like a handshake and says:
I will protect you

2nd pattern:  Their hands then reclasp together like in a fist pattern and the girl says:
I will protect you

3rd pattern:  Their thumbs meet together and both say:
We will be together till death

When I looked at Tsuyoshi's handshake pattern with Koichi, the first 2 patterns are indeed the same - "I will protect you" but the last pattern is different.  I guess only the 2 of them will ever know what the last pattern means.
